Programme

Where curiosity leads

Most conferences hand you a programme and hope you stay awake. But the things that shape an early career don't fit on a scientific programme.

The EANM Unconference is the first dedicated EANM event built around those questions: the soft skills, the strategic decisions, the friendships that show up at every congress for the next twenty years.

The format is hybrid by design: Thursday is structured, Friday is open, Saturday consolidates. An opening afternoon of plenary lectures and workshops on the skills you've actually told us you want, then a day and a half of EANM Unconference: sessions you and your peers build in real time.

Two halves, two jobs.

The first gives you tools. The second gives you the conversations you wish happened during the break over coffee!

What is this, exactly?

Thursday afternoon

You arrive

  • 3x short plenaries on where the field is heading

  • 1x workshop, your pick of five: career navigation, scientific communication, AI tools, work-life balance, talking to non-experts

  • Dinner with strangers: small groups, restaurants close by, we choose the strangers

Friday

You connect with 150 peers and make your own agenda

  • 60-second pitches to fill the programme

  • Up to 33 sessions across 8 rooms

  • You can lead 1, drop in and out, or find 3 people in a corner and have the most meaningful conversation of your year

Saturday morning

You pull the conversations together

  • 6 tables, 6 themes pulled from the day before

  • By noon you're heading home with something to take back to your department, your training, your career

  • And a new network of people who actually know your name

Conversations that matter

The questions early-career people ask each other are usually more honest than the ones asked from a stage. Unconference'27 creates the space for those conversations.

Who is it for?

You should be here if you're:

  • 🩺

    Physician

A nuclear medicine resident or early-career physician trying to figure out what your career actually looks like in 2035

  • 🔬

    Scientist

A young scientist, physicist, or radiochemist tired of being the youngest person in every room

  • ⚗️

    Technologist

A technologist or radiopharmacist who wants the strategic conversation, not just the technical one

  • 🚀

    Young Professional

Anyone up to 38 years who feels like the field is changing faster than the curriculum

You probably shouldn't be here if you want a

passive audience experience.

Unconference'27 only works if you bring something to it.

How to convince my supervisor?

  • It's an official EANM event.

Run by the EANM Young Professionals Council, facilitated by senior faculty members from across Europe.

  • 📅

    The Saturday slot is deliberate.

Thursday afternoon to Saturday: minimal clinical time lost.

  • 📋

You'll come back with concrete outputs.

Career planning frameworks, communication tools, a peer network that outlasts the event. Things worth pointing to in your next evaluation.

  • 💯

    Bonus argument.

You'll come back able to teach your supervisor something. Probably AI tools, probably social media, probably both.
